Internet Speed and Wi-Fi for IPTV

Your device only plays as well as the connection feeding it. These are the speeds we recommend per stream. If two screens are watching at once, add the two figures together.

  • Use 5 GHz Wi-Fi rather than 2.4 GHz. It’s faster and less crowded, especially in flats.
  • Plug in where you can. An Ethernet cable to your main TV removes almost all buffering.
  • Keep the router in the open, not in a cupboard or behind the TV.
  • Try a mesh system or powerline adapter if the TV is far from your router.

Watching IPTV on More Than One Screen

You can install your IPTV player on every device in your home: the living-room Firestick, the bedroom TV, your phone and your laptop. What limits you is connections, not devices. One connection means one stream playing at a time, so you can switch freely between devices but not watch on two at once.

If different people in your household want to watch at the same time, add extra connections when you order. Each connection plays independently, so the living room can watch live TV while someone else watches a film upstairs. Compare options on our pricing page.

IPTV Player Apps and Login Types

Every device runs an IPTV player app, and every player accepts one of three login types. We send your details in the format your app needs, so you never have to work this out yourself.

IPTV Device Questions

Do I need a new TV to watch IPTV?

No. Any TV with an HDMI port works. Plug in a Firestick or an Android box and your old TV becomes a smart TV for IPTV. If you already have a recent Samsung or LG Smart TV, you don’t need anything extra.

Can I install IPTV on more than one device?

Yes. Install the player on as many devices as you like and sign in on each. A plan includes one connection, so you can watch on one device at a time. Add extra connections if you want two screens playing at once.

Does IPTV work over Wi-Fi?

Yes. Use your router’s 5 GHz network and keep the device within a room or two of the router. For 4K or live sport on your main TV, a wired Ethernet connection is the most reliable option.

Which device gives the best picture quality?

For 4K, the Fire TV Stick 4K Max, Apple TV 4K or a good Android TV box all look excellent. For 8K you need an 8K TV and an 8K-capable player. Read more on our 8K IPTV page.

Will IPTV work on my old Android box?

Usually, if it runs Android 7 or later and can install a current player app. Very old boxes may be slow with large channel lists, so try it with the free trial before you buy a plan.
