An 8K TV with HDMI 2.1
The panel must be native 8K (7680 × 4320) and the input you use must support HDMI 2.1.
Ultra HD
8K IPTV gives you four times the detail of 4K on screens that support it. Every plan includes 8K, 4K, Full HD and HD streams, and the service automatically picks the best quality for your TV and connection.
Choose the stream that matches your screen. All of these are included when you buy an 8K IPTV plan.
| Quality | Resolution | Recommended speed | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|
| 8K UHD | 7680 × 4320 | 50+ Mbps | 8K TVs, top-end streaming boxes |
| 4K UHD | 3840 × 2160 | 25+ Mbps | Firestick 4K, 4K Smart TVs, Apple TV 4K |
| Full HD | 1920 × 1080 | 10+ Mbps | Most TVs, laptops and tablets |
| HD | 1280 × 720 | 5+ Mbps | Phones and slower connections |
8K has 33 million pixels, four times as many as 4K. To actually see that detail, every link in the chain has to support it. Here’s the checklist.
The panel must be native 8K (7680 × 4320) and the input you use must support HDMI 2.1.
Most streaming sticks stop at 4K. You need an 8K TV app or a high-end box that outputs 8K and decodes HEVC or AV1.
A steady 50 Mbps per stream, ideally over an Ethernet cable rather than Wi-Fi.
Look for a certified 48 Gbps cable. Older cables can cause flickering or drop you back to 4K.
An honest note on 8K content: native 8K programming is still limited worldwide, so 8K titles are a smaller, curated part of the library. Everything else plays in 4K, and a good 8K TV upscales it very well. If you have a 4K TV, that’s where most Ultra HD content lives, and you get all of it.
Great resolution means nothing if the stream buffers. Our infrastructure is the reason we’re rated among the best IPTV UK services.
Load-balanced servers switch automatically to keep 4K and 8K streams running.
Quality adjusts to your connection instead of freezing when speeds dip.
A growing on-demand library in 4K, alongside live channels.
Resolution is only part of what makes a picture look great. Three other settings make a bigger difference than most people expect, and all of them are free to get right.
HDR gives brighter highlights, deeper shadows and richer colour. Most 4K streams use HDR10, and live broadcasts often use HLG, the HDR format developed for live TV. Make sure HDR is switched on in both your streaming device and your TV’s picture settings.
UK television is broadcast at 50 frames per second. If your device outputs 60 fps instead, fast motion such as football can judder slightly. On a Firestick, turn on Match Original Frame Rate in Settings → Display & Sounds → Display. Apple TV and most Android TV boxes have a similar “match frame rate” option.
When a channel is only available in HD, your 4K or 8K TV upscales it to fill the screen. Modern TVs do this very well, so HD channels still look clean. For the best result, set the TV’s picture mode to Movie or Filmmaker rather than Vivid, which over-sharpens upscaled images.
For 4K, a Firestick 4K Max, Apple TV 4K or a recent Android TV works well. For 8K you need an 8K TV or a high-end 4K IPTV box with an 8K-capable output. See all 8K-ready devices.

Most UK home broadband packages are unlimited, so this only matters if you’re on a capped plan, 4G/5G home broadband or mobile data. These are maximum figures at the recommended speed for each quality.
| Quality | Recommended speed | Data per hour (up to) |
|---|---|---|
| HD | 5 Mbps | 2.3 GB |
| Full HD | 10 Mbps | 4.5 GB |
| 4K UHD | 25 Mbps | 11.3 GB |
| 8K UHD | 50 Mbps | 22.5 GB |
Real usage is usually lower, because adaptive bitrate only uses what each scene needs. Watching on mobile data? Choose HD in your player’s settings to make your allowance last.
No. The service automatically plays the best quality your device supports. On a 4K TV you get 4K IPTV; on an HD TV you get HD.
Around 25 Mbps for smooth 4K and 50 Mbps or more for 8K. Use a wired connection or 5 GHz Wi-Fi where you can.
Yes. 8K, 4K, FHD and HD streams are included in all plans at no extra cost.
If you own an 8K TV, yes: native 8K titles look noticeably sharper up close and on very large screens. If you have a 4K TV, you’re not missing out. Most Ultra HD content is made in 4K, and it’s included in every plan.
Adaptive bitrate lowers the quality when your connection dips, so the picture keeps playing instead of freezing. Check you have 25 Mbps or more, use a cable or 5 GHz Wi-Fi, and make sure the TV input is set to full 4K (Input Signal Plus on Samsung, HDMI Ultra HD Deep Colour on LG).
Yes, on the Fire TV Stick 4K and 4K Max, which both support 4K HDR and Dolby Vision. The HD and Lite models play up to 1080p. See our IPTV Firestick guide.
8K, 4K and HD are all included, with no upgrade fee.
